Time is still a factor as I remember all the people talking strategy and tips for playing the new BNW release, something that is pretty rare now as the expansion has been figured out. These people want their cake and eat it too.Ĭivilization 5 isn't the best example why time is a huge factor and why an early adopter does have an advantage to the late adopters when the Complete Edition releases years later. There are even people that hope right after a sale, that the game doesn't go on sale even more in the future after they bought it or even at all. If they don't have $60 for a game they don't deserve it.Not having these massive discounts would also cut down on the number of threads asking why it won't run on their cheap pos compter. I'm tired of companies pandering to poor people. Sale after price drop, more people buy it. Personally, I hate that they lower the price of games over time. This way you'll never feel disappointed that someone else bought it later for a lower price, or that the DLC/xpacs cost too much compared to the price of the base game. There is a simple solution to make people like you and the OP happy: Never reduce the price of a game for any reason. I am not getting CIv Beyond Earth until they release the first expansion for it If anything there should be a more expensive complete package at launch so that when they do release an expansion you have already paid for it.
While things do lose value over time, Reh23 has a point becasue each expansion cost about the same as the original game when they should be way less. Originally posted by SandPounder:I actually agree with this.
